Wood Energy offers prefabricated biomass boiler installations

Wood Energy’s biomass Green Heat module is designed to be easily retrofitted into large commercial and public-sector buildings. These modules provide a robust, pre-fabricated design that can be retrofitted as a standalone heat-delivery unit using wood pellets. They can operate alongside boilers using fossil fuels.

A module is delivered to site by Wood Energy and hooked up to an existing heating system. The boiler is then put into operation without the need to shut down existing heating systems.

Neil Turner, business-development manager with RES On-site, with which Wood Energy is an associated company, says, ‘Our analysis suggests that payback periods of four to five years are achievable where gas is being displaced and two to three years where oil is displaced.’

These modules use a 60 to 1000 kW automatic wood-pellet boiler from Binder or Hargassner. There is also a prefabricated pellet store with an extract auger. A concrete plinth and the civil works to connect to an existing plant room can be provided.
