Angela was selected from a shortlist of eight leading young building-services engineers following an evening of presentations at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers addressing the question, ‘How can young engineers lead the profession to ensure we deliver a sustainable future?’

The is the 16th year the award has been presented. It is designed to champion the achievement and potential of young building-services engineers.

Andy Ford, who was one of the judges, comments, ‘The standard of the entrants was very high this year, leading to the longest shortlist for over a decade. This should give us all great optimism for the future and confidence in our ability to keep producing exciting, young engineering talent.’

She achieved a distinction in her MSc in building-services engineering at London South Bank University earlier this year and worked as a member of Arup’s team on the King’s Cross Redevelopment programme. She also helps to promote engineering to young people as a STEMNET (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics Network) and IMechE ambassador.
