MHS features in Colwyn Bay regeneration project

MHS boilers
MHS boilers and solar-thermal collectors are a key part of the services installation for the Park Eirias Events Centre in Colwyn Bay.

MHS Boilers has supplied three 120 kW Thision L wall-hung boilers and 10 m2 of Solartron S2.5 flat-panel solar collectors to the recently opened Parc Eirias Events Centre in Colwyn Bay. The boilers were installed in a wall-mounted cascade frame with a low-loss header. This £6.5 million centre is a cornerstone of regeneration plans for Colwyn Bay. It comprises a large multi-purpose indoor centre for recreational use and a conference centre for business and commercial events.

The boilers were specified by M&E consultant Carpenter Davies Partnership of Denbigh and installed by JRS Mechanical Services of Wrexham.

Matt Foster of JRS says, ‘Installation and commissioning of the boiler plant went really well, and we were especially pleased with the cascade kit for the Thision L. It really helped to make it a quick and simple process.’

These boilers have a double-helix stainless-steel heat exchanger and a turndown ratio of 6:1. Up to eight boilers can be installed in a purpose-built cascade rig.
