Birmingham church refurbishes heating with MHS Boilers
Visitors to Erdington Abbey Church in Birmingham are now benefiting from efficient heating following the installation of three 65 kW Thision L boilers from MHS Boilers. Installed on a free-standing cascade frame with a low-loss header and Pisces pressurisation unit, the boilers have replaced three aging units as part of a complete refurbishment of the heating system.
M&E consultant and contractor was Farrelly Building Services of Sutton Coldfied, whose director John Farrelly said, ‘We needed boilers that had excellent efficiencies and powerful outputs, yet small enough to fit into the restricted floor space of a plant room in a Grade 2 listed building.’
The Rev. Gabriel Maguire is impressed with the installation: ‘We’ve really noticed the difference this year, with the church warming up in less than half the time before the refurbishment. The new boilers are easily controllable, extremely efficient and, above all, more economical to run.’
