JS Air Curtains ‘at home’ in new John Lewis stores

JS Air Curtains
Integrating with security curtains at four John Lewis stores are Zen air curtains from JS Air Curtains.

Retailer John Lewis has chosen JS Air Curtains to supply four new-build ‘at-home’ shops. These recently opened shops have Zen air curtains to help maintain a consistent and comfortable temperature. They also minimise energy consumption of heating and cooling systems by preventing outside entering.

‘At-home’ shops typically have 3700 m2 of retail space, selling everything required to turn a house into a home. The new shops at Tamworth, Chester, Chichester and Newbury have totally white Zen air curtains above their main entrance. Some shops also have these air curtains above the customer-collect entrance.

Stuart Watson, engineering manager for John Lewis, said, ‘Our specification included both high performance and critical-environment requirements. We also needed the air curtains to fit seamlessly with security curtains that sit above the entrances to blend in with the decor of the stores. Our M&E consultant suggest JS’s Zen air curtain because the range is diverse and flexible and could provide the ideal model in each case to meet the differing requirements at the four stores. Whilst some appliances have only just been installed, the first ones have been operating for a year now, successfully meeting our design criteria with no operational issues.’
