Durapipe plastic pipework solutions have been selected for this new academy in Telford.

The specialist drainage requirements of the Abraham Darby Academy in Telford are met by Durapipe plastic pipework solutions. This secondary academy and sixth form is the last of a 3-phase building that includes a primary school and leisure.

M&E consultant Dodd Group specified Friaphon and Vulcathene pipe. The science laboratory will use Friaphon for waste-water drainage and Vulcathene for chemical drainage.

Vulcathene is a purpose-designed chemical-resistant pipework and is available in sizes from 38 to 152 mm. It is said to be the only product that has passed the test of time for safely conveying chemical waste.

Friaphon was specified in various sizes for its acoustic properties in reducing sound levels and its low installed cost due to its push-fit assembly and no requirement for lagging.
