Thyristor control for heater batteries

Thyristors from Sontay for controlling electric heater batteries in air-handling units can control single- and 3-phase heating loads. Units for mounting on a DIN rail can modulate single phase from 1.5 to 6 kW and 3-phase from 12 to 18 kW. Panel-mounted versions offer 3-phase control to suit 36, 54 and 86 kW loads. They are rated at 60°C to reduce panel size and ventilation needs. These controllers have self-monitoring functions and provide signals to a BMS in the event of phase failure, over-heat or fault. All models have burst-power firing to minimise electrical noise and RFI without additional filtering.
