20 years of clean air for System Hygienics

System Hygienics, the air and kitchen specialist, marks its 20th anniversary this year (2013). The company was set up as a specialist ductwork-cleaning organisation with the vision of providing high-quality cleaning services for ventilation ductwork and kitchen extract ductwork, and was a member of the Hotchkiss Group, dating back to 1885.

Managing director Steve Liddiard says, ‘Under the leadership of group chairman Michael Ohly, System Hygienics has grown and diversified into specialist areas — including rubbish-chute cleaning, air-hygiene surveys and fire-damper testing.

This year has seen the launch of a fire-damper remedial service, a full-service solution for fire-damper compliance and safety, which, added to the testing and maintenance service, give a one-stop shop without having to involve another contractor.

The duct-cleaning service utilises the innovative Jetvent powervac system, a remote cleaning method that uses compressed air and a powerful filtered vacuum to access and clean areas that would normally be out of reach in hospitals, offices and other public buildings.
