CHP meets heat-interface units in supported housing

MHG Heating, community heating, space heating, heat interface unit, CHP
Residents of this housing development benefit from the efficiency of CHP with the help of MHG heat interface units.

Being able to supply top-entry heat interface units, rather than the standard bottom entry, led to MHG Heating supplying 74 bespoke Teleheat units for a retired/ sheltered housing development in Berkshire. Operated by Sovereign Housing Association, The Priory consists of two curved apartment buildings with 46 extra-apartments and 28 homes for people over 55.

There is a district-heating network served from a central plant room. Base load are met by CHP with two gas-fired condensing boilers for peak loads.

The heat-interface units include heat and water meters to provide Sovereign with centralised monitoring and billing facilities.

Other features of these units include hot-water pre-heat from instantaneous DHW in the summer when space-heating demands are low, hot-water priority, gradual warm up for the heating circuit and a program to exercise the pump and mixing valve.
