Mikrofill helps seafront hotel give warm welcome

Effective heating and hot-water services have been restored at the St George’s Hotel on the sea front of Llandudno following the installation of Mikrofill wall-mounted condensing boilers and its hot-water loading systems. The new equipment replaces dated horizontal calorifiers and inefficient cast-iron boilers — all of which had long been in need of replacing.

The hotel turned to Ener-G, a specialist in the energy-efficiency market, which worked with installer Heater Services of Rochdale to resolve the problem.

The new equipment comprised four Ethos 130 kW condensing boilers in free-standing frames and three Rapide Extreme 500 l hot-water loading systems. Each unit can deliver 2570 l/h of hot water while maximising the efficiency of the Ethos boilers. Temporary boiler plant enabled the hotel to stay open while the work was carried out.
