LG launches monobloc air-to-water heat pumps

LG’s Therma V monobloc range of air-to-water heat pumps is designed to be installed next to a building. Single-phase units have a heat output from 3 to 16 kW, with a maximum COP of 4.49. There are also three 3-phase units with heat outputs from 12 to 16 kW, again with a maximum COP of 4.49.

The major feature of the Therma V range is the use of PI (proportional-integral) logic, which enables units to operate up to 30% more efficiently than a conventional model. The BLDC inverter compressor also saves energy, using up to 40% less electricity than a typical AC motor at low speeds and 20% less at high speeds.

Other features include a newly designed wide louvre fin and optimised heat-exchanger path; they help to conserve energy, boost reliability and facilitate improved heat exchange. The water pump is also inverter controlled.

In the unlikely event of a fault, Therma V has a 2-step emergency operation feature that guarantees constant heat production until the system is serviced.
