Sophisticated control for underfloor heating

controller
Up to five independent underfloor-heating zones can be controlled using the UPT-678 controller from Coster.
Coster has introduced a control module for use with warm-water underfloor heating systems. The UPT-678 controller provides a complete spectrum of control options from single-zone on/off to full differential or proportional temperature control of multiple zones with data acquisition and transmission and remote control functions. Full remote control can be achieved by adding a modem, such as Coster’s MPD–612. Up to five independent heating zones can be controlled, and the modular concept of the design permits systems to be built up to match virtually any requirement, including full BMS integration. There is a wide range of programme options. Systems can be set to run seven times in a 24-hour period, for two periods in a week and simply on or off. Optimum start can be activated for any zone used with proportional temperature control.

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

Baxi research suggests schools strongly support heat decarbonisation

A survey conducted by Baxi of 200 state school estates managers, consultant engineers and M&E contractors has found that while enthusiasm for Net Zero and support for low carbon heating systems in schools is thriving, persistent barriers remain.
