Voltage optimiser complies with changes to Wiring Regulations

Marshall-Tufflex, voltage optimiser

Marshall-Tufflex has launched a voltage optimiser that complies with the latest changes to the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671:2008). Voltis Home complies with the requirement that they be made of non-combustible material or enclosed within a non-combustible box.

The Voltis Home voltage optimiser has a metal case and passive fire protection. It also delivers higher energy savings, is quieter and easier to install.

Jeremy Dodge, head of technical services with MT, observes, ‘Having a metal cover alone is not sufficient to comply. All vents and openings within the unit need to be sealed automatically in the unlikely event of a fire.

Voltis Home reduces the incoming mains voltage by 9% and comes with an internal 100 A main switch/isolator.
