Daikin small VRV system is designed for total indoor installation

By separating the compressor stage and heat-rejection functions of VRV air conditioning, Daikin Europe has made it possible to install the compressor unit indoors and the heat-rejection unit close to the facade, with only the grilles visible from outside, or in a ceiling void with a ducted connection to the outside. Up to 10 indoor units can be served.

The VRV IV i-series has been developed to meet the demands of city and urban locations where space is limited and customers want an invisible air-conditioning solution.

The 2-part design and easy system handling reduces the need for lifting plant into place.

The compressor unit weighs just 80 kg and has a footprint of 600 x 550 mm. Operating sound is 47 dB(A), so it can be installed in an occupied room — even under a work surface. The switchbox on the front of the indoor unit tilts (pictured) to give full access from the front for easy servicing.

The compact heat exchanger is 400 mm high and weighs 90 kg, so it can be installed in a ceiling void.

This system incorporates Daikin’s variable-refrigerant-temperature technology, which reduces energy costs by 28% compared with a standard VRV III series.
