Gilberts simplifies natural ventilation for school classrooms
Gilberts of Blackpool has extended its Mistrale Fusion Series (MFS) range of ventilation units with the introduction of a high-capacity version. The MFS256 delivers 256 l/s of air, double that of the MFS128 unit. Air is mainly delivered naturally into a building. MFS units are described as a dynamic hybrid natural-ventilation units that use occasional eco-fan assistance to maintain comfort conditions.
Installed in a window or wall, an MFS unit draws fresh air using natural-air-movement principles through a louvre into the core unit. A mixing damper mixes fresh air and exhaust air to temper the air delivered to the space and achieve a maximum differential of 10 K.
The regular flowrate of MFS units ensure compliance with Department for Education guidelines. A system can be boosted — an 128 l/s unit to 160 l/s and a 256 l/s unit to 320 l/s and still be within acoustic limitations.
Gilberts’ testing procedures predict fan running costs of less than £5 per classroom a year.
