LED luminaires are waterproof
The Smart[3] LED luminaire from Gewiss has an ingress protection rating of IP66/IP69 — making it waterproof, dustproof and suitable for cleaning with a high-pressure hot-water jet. The fittings are very easy to install and can replace fluorescent fittings from 2 ft 18 W single through to 5 ft 58 W twin fittings without having to alter fixings.
These luminaires are designed for installation with low ceiling heights up to 4 m high — such as multi-storey car parks, plant rooms, loading bays, workshops, schools and supermarkets. They are also suitable for more demanding environments with a high degree of humidity or dust.
The polycarbonate body makes these fittings suitable for the food industry and can resist impact, accidental knocks, water jets, humidity, foreign bodies and dust. There are three sizes (800, 1200 and 1600 mm). A through-wiring option enables luminaires to be linked seamlessly to create a continuous strip of light.
Other features include an operating temperature from -25 to +40°C and a CRI of 80. There is a choice of optics. The LEDs have a system efficiency of up to 129 lm/W.
