Trend wins design award

Trend, controls, BMS, BEMS

Trend Control Systems has won a silver Design Effectiveness Award 2016 from the Design Business Association (DBA) for its IQ*4 range of controllers, designed in collaboration with Ratio Design Associates. When Trend launched this range, it worked with Ratio Design Associates to develop design criteria that could be adopted throughout the range by combining consistent high-quality aesthetics with technical excellence.

IQ*4 modules have a 40% smaller footprint than the IQ*3 range and can be housed in smaller, less-expensive control cabinets.

Modules can be replaced in half the time, without disruption to neighbouring hardware. Product assembly times have also been improved by 12%.

Graeme Rees, marketing director with Trend, comments, ‘Working with the team at Ratio on this project has been interesting and exciting, and the results serve to demonstrate the advantages of a coherent, well thought out and professionally executed design strategy.’
