Viega brings Megapress connectors for gas to UK

Viega now offers its Megapress G pipe connectors in the UK, bringing the benefits of the Megapress technology to those working with gas installations. These cold-pressed connectors have been tested and Kitemark approved for natural gas, LPG, heating oil. diesel and compressed air containing oil and technical gases.

The Megapress carbon-steel press-connection system helps to reduce installation time by around 60% compared with traditional methods such as welding.

Megapress G connectors are suitable for use with black, galvanised or painted steel pipe. The hydrogenated nitrile Butadiene rubber sealing element of these connectors guarantees the connections have the required degree of sealing, even where the pipe surface is rough — making them suitable for retrofit installations.

There are over a hundred connectors — including elbows and threaded adaptors, T pieces, reducing elbows, flanges, screw fittings and caps — in sizes from 1/2 to 2 in.

Viega’s SC-Contur technology ensures that any connections that remain unpressed can immediately be identified in a dry leakage test (see picture).

Megapress G connectors are marked in yellow and packed in yellow bags.
