HPA welcomes new Government minister with responsibility for RHI

The Heat Pump Association has welcomed the appointment of Claire Perry as Minister of State within the Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS). She replaces Nick Hurd and will report to Greg Clarke, who remains as Secretary of State.

Mike Nankivell, president of the Heat Pump Association (HPA) said, ‘we welcome the continuity that Greg Clarke brings to the leadership of BEIS and also Claire Perry’s appointment, as she is known to be a realistic supporter of cost-effective carbon reduction.

The Minister of State at BEIS has prime responsibility for the Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive scheme, which promotes renewable heat technologies in Great Britain.
