Ferroli boilers form part of green solution

Supporting wood-burning stoves in eco-friendly holiday homes in North Yorkshire are Ferroli Optimax combi boilers.
Part of the specification for eco-friendly holiday homes near the historic market town of Richmond in North Yorkshire is the use of Ferroli condensing combi boilers with a SEDBUK A rating. These lodge-style buildings include the use of sustainable timber and low-emissivity glazing. All roofs have been planted with evergreen sedum to blend in with the surrounding landscape. Simon Spence, director of Ecobuild UK, explains, ‘We specified a SEDBUK A-rated boiler as back-up to the wood-burning stove and passive solar gain from the e-glazing. The installer recommended Ferroli’s Optimax combi as a cost-effective solution to our needs.’ All models in the Optimax range have auto-output selection control, which enables the boiler to set its own output each time heat is called for to met the exact requirement of the system. When DHW is called for, these boilers switch to 29 kW output to deliver up to 12 l/min through a temperature rise of 35 K.
