Toshiba’s Mini-SMMS VRF air-conditioning systems has cooling capacities from 12 to 16 kW and heating from 12 to 18 kW.
Toshiba’s Mini-SMMS VRF air-conditioning system operates from a single-phase power supply and bridges the gap between Multi-Split systems and large-scale VRF. These heat-pump systems use R410A and are available in three sizes to deliver cooling from 12 to 16 kW and heating from 12 to 18 kW. They qualify for Enhanced Capital Allowances. Making this system particularly suitable for hotels and homes is the remote siting of pulsed modulating valves from the respective indoor units, removing any refrigerant noise from the occupied space. There are 13 types of indoor unit, including the existing 11 indoor units for the SMMS and SHRM ranges and two new products. They are a 600 mm-square 4-way-blow cassette in six sizes and a one-way cassette in three sizes. There are 70 indoor units in all. The total possible piping extension is 180 m. The outdoor unit has two fans and is housed in a similar cabinet to that used by Toshiba split systems. It weighs only 117 kg and is just 1.34 m high, 0.32 m deep and 0.9 m wide. It can fit into a lift, avoiding craning in many situations. Installation does not require a concrete. plinth.
