Growth continues at White Young Green

Consultants White Young Green increased its order book by 27% to a record £280 million in the six months to 31 December 2005. The corresponding period for the previous year was £220 million. Gross revenue for the period was up to 19% to £78.6 million, accompanied by a 14% increase in operating profit to £6.4 million. Earnings per share grew by 10% to 9.3 p, up from 8.5 p. Four acquisitions were completed in the second half of 2005, and last month WYG announced the acquisition of Tweeds (a national QS, project-management and health-and-safety consultancy) and Farningham McCreadie (a town-planning consultancy based in Edinburgh and Belfast). WYG has achieved a compound growth rate of 25% since 1987. It has a fee turnover of about £160 million and employs over 2200 staff in offices throughout the UK, Ireland and overseas.
