New TEWI guide published

New guidance on the total environmental warming impact (TEWI) refrigeration and air-conditioning systems has been published by the British Refrigeration Association. TEWI is a measure of the global-warming impact of equipment based on the total related emissions of greenhouses during equipment operation and disposal of operating liquids at the end of its life. It is measured in mass of carbon-dioxide equivalent. The guide provides a standardised method of calculating TEWI for new systems in the UK at design stage. Its aim is to aid the comparison of different technical options to meet cooling needs. The guide is endorsed by the Institute of Refrigeration.
