Sector skills council wins Investors in People award

SummitSkills, the sector skills council for building-services engineering, has achieved Investors in People status. The report from Investors in People stresses that SummitSkills has an open, encouraging and supportive management style, with a robust and clearly articulated strategy for staff training and development. The award was presented by Claire Curtis-Thomas, chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Building Services Engineering. Keith Marshall, chief executive at SummitSkills commented on the success: ‘The quality and skills of the people working for us is absolutely fundamental. The most important element in our organisation is our people. Achieving Investors in People status has been a company-wide effort. It’s something that you do with staff rather than to staff, so I’d like to say well done to everyone at SummitSkills.’
