Thermal Transfer is acting as the principal contractor for the design and build of a new £2.5 million laboratory near Livingston in Scotland. A green-field site at Eliburn in Livingston is being developed for the research products and services division of Tepnel Life Sciences, which provides outsourcing services for the UK pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare industries. It will integrate and expand its existing services provided by the current Edinburgh and Glasgow laboratories, which will then be closed. This 2-storey building of 1700 m2 will incorporate high-quality laboratories and associated services on the ground floor. The top floor has the board room meeting facilities, offices and a plant room. As principal contractor, TT’s Edinburgh office has total responsibility for the whole projects — including acting as sub-contractor for the design, supply, installation and commissioning for the specialist mechanical services.
