By working with Rayotec, Lochinvar can offer hot-water systems that use solar energy.
Lochinvar, which makes water heaters and boilers, can now supply water-heating solutions that use renewable energy by working with Rayotec, which makes solar panels. The companies are working together to design and supply bespoke solutions combining Lochinvar direct gas-fired water heaters with solar-heating products. These solutions are aimed at commercial and industrial applications. The approach is to use solar energy to preheat water for Lochinvar water heaters. David Pepper, managing director of Lochinvar, explains, ‘There are many factors to take into account when designing for hot water in non-domestic buildings. By offering tailored solutions, we can propose a system to achieve maximum solar gain, but without compromising the supply of hot water for the building in question. ‘One size does not fit all where solar water heating is concerned, and we will assess each application on a individual basis. Costed proposals can include the supply and installation of the solar collectors, pre-heat cylinder and associated pipework.’
