Car-park ventilation

The Smoke Control Association has published its new guide for designers and regulators on CFC modelling for car-park ventilation systems. This new guide is intended to support the recommendations of BS7346-7, published in 2006. The BS briefly discusses the use of computational fluid dynamics for the design of car-park ventilation but provides little guidance on its use. The SCA guide sets out the information and parameters that the designer should incorporate into the design of the CFD model. It is intended to help the designer produce and run the CFD module and write the CFD report. It also provides recommendations on the information to be provided to the approving authority when submitting the CFD analysis for information and/or approval of design intent.
