Hoare Lea continues involvement with Greenwich Millennium Village

Hoare Lea has been appointed consultant building-services engineer for three more phases of Greenwich Millennium Village.
Hoare Lea has been appointed by Greenwich Millennium Village to develop phases three, four and five of its scheme in London. The practice will design M&E systems and supply specialist building-services design advice, including sustainability, acoustics, fire engineering, lighting, public health and virtual engineering. The architecture will include detailed consideration of passive design solutions to minimise energy consumption; orientation, fenestration, fabric insulation and permeability will be incorporated. It is expected that renewable technologies will be incorporated, with likely sources including biofuel, solar DHW and small scale wind power. Low-energy solutions to be employed included natural ventilation, district heating served by CHP, instantaneous DHW, low-energy lighting and high levels of thermal insulation. Bill Grant, a partner with Hoare Lea, comments, ‘Hoare Lea has been a key player in the ongoing development of Greenwich Village and is delighted to be appointed for these phases. This project will set the benchmark for high-density residential development for the next decade.’
