Restoring the Headrow

Building services for the restoration of this landmark building in The Headrow, Leeds, are to be installed by SES.

Building-services provider SES has won the £7 million M&E design and installation contract for the restoration of 22-26 The Headrow in Leeds city centre. SES begins work on the project in October, joining key building contractor Wates Construction, which started demolition works in February. Originally built in the 1930s for the department store Lewis’, the building has been a significant landmark in Leeds. The refurbished building will house three floors of retail space and a further four floors of office space. A further six individual office units will be built on the roof. The SES team will install traditional services for this project, including roof-top plant equipment, sprinkler systems and ancillary services, as well as intelligent lighting, high- and low-voltage installations and feature lighting.
