The ‘open fire’ that connects to a wet heating system

Council homes in Wrexham are increasingly enjoying the benefits of a flame-effect fireplace with heating from the central-heating system with the installation of the Hydroflame from Smith's Industries.
Combining the function of a radiator with the aesthetics of an open fire is Smith's Industries” Hydroflame, which is regularly installed in homes by Wrexham Maelor Borough Council. Hydroflame connects like a radiator but looks like an open fire. It is fan assisted to circulate heat around the room. The flame effect creates a focal point, even when the heating is off. An electric heating element is included in dual models to provide heat when the central heating is off. Martin Powell, heating services officer at WCBC, says, ‘We have been using the Smith's Hydroflame for a few years as part of our continued capital heating improvement works. The flame-effect radiator provides tenants with a focal point, as well as reducing future servicing and revenue budgets. Importantly, each unit has a 5-year warranty.’
