Mr Slim combines master and standby functions

A new control option for Mitsubishi Electric’s Mr Slim outdoor air-conditioning units provides duty and standby functions for security of service.
Mitsubishi Electric’s Mr Slim range of air-conditioning outdoor units now offers greater security for critical applications such as server rooms by combining duty and standby functions. The changeover between primary and back-up system is almost seamless. This duty-standby function can be used in three ways. The first is for the standby system to take over if the master system fails, so as to provide continuity of service. The second is the rotation function, with systems operating alternately and switching every one, three, seven, 14 or 28 days. Such sharing of operation can increase intervals between maintenance visits and reduce downtime. The third mode is for master and standby to operate at the same time if, for example, the master system cannot reach the set temperature in cooling mode — say on a very hot day.
