Air-conditioning cassettes fit into shallower ceiling voids

The largest unit in a new range of cassettes from MHI delivers 14 kW of cooling and is only 298 mm deep, compared with 365 mm before.
Even the largest unit in an updated range of 4-way air-conditioning cassettes from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries can be fitted within a 300 mm ceiling void without the need for a space collar. The largest unit has a cooling capacity of 14 kW and is just 298 mm deep. Smaller-capacity models are 246 mm deep. The cooling capacity of FDT inverter-controlled cassettes is now indicated in kW, not hp. The new units also have a 2-wire control system, replacing three wires and simplifying installation. Control is based on the RC-E3 wired controller, which provides functions such as set-temperature limitation to limit the amount of heating or cooling that users can request, avoiding unnecessarily high demands on the system.
