Energy-saving opportunities for pumps

Armstrong has pub-lished a concise guide to reducing the energy consumption of pumps when aging systems are upgraded or refurbished. Possibilities highlighted include replacing a belt-driven pump with a close-coupled alternative that requires no pipe changes to save, for example, £864 a year. The ultimate option is to install a new high-efficiency unit, which requires pipe changes but offers savings of up to £3760 a year.
