Fast and easy portable-appliance testing

Martindale

Martindale has introduced what it describes as a genuine hand-held instrument for portable-appliance testing. It weighs just 600 g, including batteries, and measures 90 x 210 x 54 mm. It complies with the forthcoming code of practice for portable-appliance testing.

Features of the HPET600 include dual insulation-test voltage, user-selectable pass levels, easy or fast operating mode, IEC lead test and storage of test data for up to 200 appliances — equivalent to a day’s testing.

This instrument tests both Class I and Class II appliances and power cords. It has a 250 V insulation tester for sensitive IT equipment and appliances with mains filters. A 200 mA continuity test is safe for all appliances.

The test voltage for insulation measurement can be set to 250 or 500 V, with user-defined test-pass levels for appliances.
