University College Hospital benefits from JS air curtains

Two identical entrances at University College Hospital in London have curved and swing doorways protected by JS air curtains

JS Air Curtains has supplied and installed six air curtains at University College Hospital in London.

The Euston Road and Beaumont Place entrances are identical and have two 1.5 m stainless-steel air curtains and a 2.5 m curved air curtain.

There are RotoWind sets above double curved sliding doors which open in turn as someone walks through the entrance, providing a double seal to the doorway. At busy times, both doors can open at the same time, with the air curtain creating a barrier of air across the internal doorway to prevent cold air entering.

The RotoWind air curtain is bespoke for the curved angle of the doorway and incorporates an electric heater with an output of up to 32 kW and low-noise centrifugal double-inlet fans providing an airflow of up to 6475 m3/h.

The air curtains above swing doors either side of the large curved doors have a round design and are of stainless steel. They have electric heaters that can deliver up to 22.5 kW of heat and low-noise fans providing airflows of up to 3700 m3/h.
