Ener-G expansion continues apace

Ener-G
Four-fold growth in six years — Derek Duffill of Ener-G.

Sustainable-power business Ener-G has boosted its production capacity for CHP and biogas generators by 50% with the opening of another factory in Salford. Only last year the company doubled its original manufacturing space by opening a second factory in Sunderland and has now trebled its original manufacturing space to 3200 m2 by converting an adjacent building.

The company is also to recruit more service engineers to expand its 90-strong installation and maintenance team and build a training centre in the new premises.

Ener-G’s CHP systems are used in Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle — as well as in hospitals, hotels, leisure centres, supermarkets, factories and other buildings worldwide.

Systems can be powered by natural gas or renewable biogases. Ener-G has installed and operates in excess of 120 MW of biogas generation, mainly from landfill gas.

The company has recently opened a clean energy recovery facility on the Isle of Wight and has six other plants in Europe.

Group managing director Derek Duffill, says, ‘Our innovative products and services are in demand across the globe — fuelling our on-going growth and reflected in our turnover of £90 million, which has grown four-fold over the past six years. We have 700 employees world wide and operating companies in the UK, Hungary, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Norway and Poland — plus joint ventures in South Africa, Mexico and Spain.
