Intrinsically safe addressable manual call point

KAC’s new intrinsically safe addressable indoor manual call point has been tested and approved by LPCB for use in Zone 1 hazardous areas. The MCP5A-IS is available as flush- or surface-mounted versions and enables the manual initiation of an addressable fire-alarm system to be implemented from within the hazardous area where potentially explosive gases are occasionally present during normal operations.

MCP units are powered from the loop in the normal way, with the loop entering the hazardous area through a suitably approved IS barrier. They are available with a traditional break-glass or resettable operating element.

The loop cabling is terminated in a special terminal block, enabling continuity and ground-fault checking without the need for the device to be connected. The terminal block is then simply connected to the back of the MCP.
