Hattersley Hooks-Up The Cube in Birmingham

Hattersly Compact Hook-Up units have helped significantly reduce the installation costs of fan-coil units are chilled beams in this development in Birmingham.

Hattersley’s Compact Hook-Up units are being installed throughout The Cube, the final stage in the Mailbox development in Birmingham to connect HVAC terminal units such as fan-coil units and chilled beams. These units provide flow control, flow measurement, system and coil flushing and isolation from a single compact and lightweight unit.

They are made from bronze and DZR brass and can be used for chilled and heating water systems from -10 to 120°C.

Hook-up units have only four onsite connections and are delivered assembled and tested, offering significant reductions in cost compared with alternatives.

Ian Conway of Robert Prettie & Co., which won the £16 million HVAC and mechanical-engineering contract, says, ‘We have used Hattersley products on many contracts over the years and found the company and the products to be totally reliable.

Described as a city within a city, this £100 million 23-storey building will house apartments, offices, shops, a hotel, restaurants and car parking. The Cube is due for completion next year.
