Lochinvar combines heat pumps and gas-fired water heating

Lochinvar

Lochinvar has added air-to-water heat pumps to its range of renewable-energy packages. Six units are available with outputs from 4 to 16 kW, and all are single phase. They are designed to pre-heat feedwater for Lochinvar gas-fired water heaters. All the refrigerant circuitry is contained in the outdoor unit, with only water connections externally.

David Pepper, managing director of Lochinvar, says, ‘With the continuing drive towards improved hot-water-system efficiencies, we believe these packages provide a solution which utilises a renewable technology at a reasonable level of capital cost.’
