13th century castle gatehouse enjoys Creda electric heating
With the 700-year-old gatehouse of Tonbridge Castle now being used as a reception and retail area, energy-efficient heating is provided by a range of Creda equipment selected to match heaters already used in other parts of the building. Tonbridge Castle is owned by Tonbridge & Malling Council, but little remains except the gatehouse, which is put to multiple uses.
Pockock’s Electricians of Maidstone installed Sensair automatic storage fan heaters supported by TPR panel heaters. 24-hour and 7-day timers were used for improved economies to suit the needs of different parts of the reception and retail areas.
Sensair automatic storage fan heaters can operate on any tariff and take good advantage of extended or split tariffs. They have insulation levels 250% greater than conventional heaters and can achieve higher SAP and NHER ratings than storage heaters with manual input.
The TPRIIIE panels heaters for the project are rated at 750 W and 1 kW and have electronic thermostats for precise regulation of room temperature.
