Plumbing Academy installs rainwater harvesting system

Plumbing Academy, rainwater harvesting
Up to 250 000 l of water a year is expected to be acquired by this rainwater harvesting system at The Plumbing Academy in Edenbridge.

The Plumbing Academy in Edenbridge claims to have become the first training centre in the UK to have a fully functioning rainwater harvesting system, following the installation of a 3000 l Envireau from Kingspan Environmental. All water for training at the academy is now supplied by the system — up to 250,000 l a year.

Stewart Edwards, chief executive at the academy, says, ‘Having a rainwater harvesting system provides a fantastic learning tool for the academy’s trainees, who will need to be fully versed in renewable and sustainable energy technologies.
