Air curtain adds finishing touch to revolving door

JS Air Curtains
Complementing the comfort-maintaining capabilities of this revolving door at Hope University in Liverpool is a specially made air curtain from JS Air Curtains.

The air curtain for a revolving door at the Hope University in Liverpool was specially made by JS Air Curtains. Although revolving doors offer some protection from conditions outside, they also act like a slow-moving fan to drag in air with every rotation. The Rotowind air curtain follows the contours of the internal curve of the doorway and prevents cold air entering the building.

JS Air Curtains liaises with manufacturers of revolving doors and designs each Rotowind to perfectly match the contour of every door.

The Rotowind air curtain at Hope University is a black 1.5 m unit with an electrical heater capable of providing up to 22.5 kW. It was installer by M&E contractor HE Simm.

Heating can also be provided by LPHW, and air-only models are available. Centrifugal double-inlet fans driven by external-rotor motors can deliver up to 6475 m3/h of air and have 5-speed controllers.
