Wireless programmable room thermostat brings new level of sophistication

Glow-worm, boilers, controls

Glow-worm has launched a wireless RF programmable room thermostat. The Climapro2 controller is a 2-channel device with time and temperature control of central heating and hot water. It has an intuitive new menu system with all program information in clear text on a large back-lit display.

Its capabilities include variable temperature settings for central-heating timed periods and timed on/off periods for hot water. There is also an over-ride feature for central heating and hot water. All program information is displayed on a single screen.

The control unit is about the size of a mobile telephone and can be removed from a wall-mounted holder while settings are being changed.

This controller works with Glow-worm’s Ultracom2 range of boilers, and the receiver slots neatly into the new electronics box inside the boiler. It enables house builders to qualify for extra SAP points.

There is an optional wireless outdoor sensor with small photo-voltaic cells to charge it.
