KNX adds to speed and capabilities of its Engineering Tool Software

KNX, BMS, control

The latest version of the KNX Engineering Tool Software (ETS) makes it possible to implement KNX projects more easily and quickly. In addition, the inclusion of a standardised open interface permits the exchange of ETS data and integration with other applications.

Many suggestions for improvements in the ETS4 version were made by manufacturers, systems integrators and users — including KNX professionals and those with little or no KNX knowledge.

ETS4 offers a clearly structured and intuitive user interface with a clearer presentation of menus and practical selection lists to provide fast access to data.

A wizard gives step-by-step project design, and improvement of workflow is achieved through drag-and-drop, error checks and help functions. Fast downloads, an efficient product finder and copying functions all help speed up a project.

ETS4 is based on the latest technologies, standards and operating systems. It uses the universal data-exchange format XML, which can be opened and displayed in any text editor or web browser.

The standardised open interface allows the integration of numerous ‘apps’ and give the ability to extend the functionality of ETS. Updates can be obtained automatically online.
