JS Air Curtains completes two Olympics projects

JS Air Curtains

JS Air Curtains has supplied eight Rund air curtains for the new concourse entrances at the Olympic rail links at Stratford and Ebbsfleet International stations. Two entrances at each station have identical air-curtain systems comprising two 1.5 m-long Rund air curtains linked by a 2.7 m-long dummy section.

The systems were specified by Morgan Sindall Professional Services and installed by Eurolec Services.

Peter Capron, architect with Morgan Sindall, explains, ‘This high-profile project [Stratford] in the shadows of the Olympic Village demanded air curtains that would complement our entrance facade design. The Rund model fulfilled these requirements, not only with the form but also with the functionality.’

The air curtains for these projects have 22.5 kW electric heaters, but versions with hot-water heating and air-only models are also available. These air curtains are available in single lengths from 1 to 3 m for doorways up to 3.5 m high.

The air curtains on these projects also incorporate signage.
