Daikin extends its Altherma low-temperature system

Daikin, Altherma, space heating, underfloor heating

Daikin Europe’s range of low-temperature air-to-water heat pumps has been extended with a new indoor unit (hydrobox) and hot-water cylinder. This floor-standing reduces installation times and improves the COP for producing domestic hot water. The cylinder is mounted on top of the hydrobox.

This integrated option comes in heating-only or heating-and-cooling versions and is compatible with existing Daikin Altherma low-temperature split outdoor units. Capacities range from 6 to 16 kW. Sizing software makes it easy to select the best configuration for optimum performance.

The new units have a highly insulated integrated unvented stainless-steel DHW cylinder that can product hot water at 60°C. This better insulation and larger DHW coil improve heat-up times by 33% and performance by 20% to give a DHW COP of 2.0.

The DHW cylinder is available with capacities of 200 and 260 l. When additional hot water is needed during the day, the cylinder can be heated to a lower temperature more efficiently.
