Lochinvar expands its solar-thermal offering

Lochinvar, which specialises in commercial water heaters and boilers, has expanded its solar-thermal offering in response to changing demands in the LZC market. The company will continue to offer solar/direct gas-fired water heater supply/install packages through its partnership with solar specialist Rayotec. However, because more contractors and heating specialists are prepared to take on the solar installation, Lochinvar now offers products on a supply-only basis. Contractors can therefore benefit from the expertise of Lochinvar and Rayotec without having to commit to an installation that could be carried out in house.

Lochinvar now offers flat-plate collectors alongside the existing evacuated-tube solutions. The most popular collector in the flat-plate range is supported by a 20-year warranty.

David Pepper, Lochinvar’s managing director, explains, ‘Over the last two years or so the market for solar has seen a rapid growth, and more of our customers are ready to install solar systems, and our expanded offering provides different solutions. We will continue to work with our partner companies to provide the “supply-and-install” solar packages, but our new “supply-only” offer will benefit those customers who have invested in solar-installation training at the correct level.’
