Providing hot water for a new sports complex at Uppingham School is this vast solar array using Vaillant collectors.

Vaillant has supplied 120 m2 of evacuated-tube collectors for a new leisure and sports facility at Uppingham School in Rutland. This vast solar field comprises 60 Aurotherm collectors and provides hot water for showers.

This was a challenging installation, so Vaillant provided the overall design of the system. Its design engineers worked closely with the school and the installer, Barrier Energy, to ensure that the system was designed for maximum efficiency and trouble-free operation in the future.

Funds were raised to help meet the cost, and the school also received funding from the Low Carbon Buildings Programme.
