Crane commissioning valves are just the topping for Domino’s Pizza Group
Commissioning-valve units, strainers and associated products from Crane Fluid Systems have been installed in the new £20 million commissary of Domino’s Pizza Group in Milton Keynes. It supplies dough and other ingredients for over 500 stores of this pizza-delivery company.
The Crane valves play an important role in managing energy use. They are of a compact space-saving design and enable fast commissioning. Fewer joints are required on site, considerably reducing installation costs.
The valves were installed by M&E contractor Walter Miles. Director Lee Sutton explains, ‘Installation of plant and equipment has to be carefully planned to allow unrestricted access for maintenance personnel in the future. However, the need for such access should be limited, as all Crane products are tested before leaving the factory, which makes them highly reliable.’
M&E consultant for the project was Couch Perry & Wilkes LLP.
Designed by Q2 Architects, the new building emulated the form of the adjacent MK stadium. It covers an area of 7400 m2 and incorporates production facilities and distribution warehouse.
