Awards for Excellence now open for nominations

SummitSkills is looking for the industry’s best craft, technical and professional engineers with the launch of its latest annual Awards for Excellent. Nominations are now open for the event, which was previously know as the National Training Award for Building Services Engineers and recognises outstanding employees who have demonstrated exceptional standards of work and commitment to their role. The awards will be presents at WorldSkills at ExCel in London in October. Closing date for entries is 1 August 2011. More information at the web site below.

There are categories for experienced mechanical and electrical workers, technicians and managers. There is also an ‘Environmental excellence’ award for a significant contribution to the green agenda across the sector. Operative of the year awards will also be presented in RAC, electro-technical, H&V and plumbing categories.

More refrigerant bans possible, says government
